BLACK EMPOWERMENT; JOINT VENTURES
Stallion Security believe that to truly empower the historically
disadvantaged South Africans, empowerment schemes should benefit
the previously and currently disempowered people who are trying
by their own efforts, to generate wealth. In this regard Stallion
has played a major role in assisting people that fit this description
and have and are still involved as follows:-
Assisting Small Businesses
The Stallion Security Group approach to this vital function is
to empower the small business owner. Stallion Security has formed
joint ventures with small to medium sized security businesses and
established solid working relationships with various small businesses
over the years, inter-alia:
Impumelelo Alarms and Security: Sylvester Mohlabane
Iso Le Sizwe: Jack Sibanda
Baemedi Security: Tembile Sangoni
With Stallion Security assisting in the following way,
- Financial
- Document and site assessment / requirements
- Recruitment and training of staff
- Operational infrastructure
- Management mentoring, coaching and back up
- Quality Management
Impumelelo Alarms and Security secured and serviced various
contracts, including Bopeleng Medical Centres, Dalpark Clinic, Eskom
and others.
Iso Le Sizwe
In 1995, Clive Zulberg met Jack Sibanda, who expressed a desire
to run his own security company. Whilst his operational ability
was adequate, his administrative skills were somewhat lacking, and
his availability to funds for his venture were limited. Clive Zulberg
injected capital and provided Mr Sibanda with the administrative
function required to set up and establish "Iso Le Sizwe".
As time passed, Jack established his own training centre, and now
runs his business with no further external assistance.
Baemedi Security
Tembile Sangoni, the former Chief Executive of Baemedi Security,
has had a long association with Stallion Security's Chief Executive,
Clive Zulberg.
When Tembile and Clive first met, Tembile outlined the frustrations
that his business had endured. Baemedi had tendered for and obtained
contracts but was unable to deliver at the required levels of performance.
Clive gave advice and assisted Tembile in developing a strategic
plan for his business and also gave further managerial, administrative
and operational guidance.
This ongoing process of skills transfer between Clive and Tembile
eventually culminated in the partnership and formation of Amabubesi
Security. Tembile and a consortium of black businessmen invested
money and bought 25% of Stallion Security.
Tembile currently holds the position of Executive Director of Stallion
and continues to spend most of his working time with Clive, acquiring
the skills necessary for him to grow Stallion Security into one
of the leading South African owned security companies.
The Beyers Naude Foundation
Stallion Security was involved in a major RDP project involving
The Beyers Naude Foundation in an exercise to raise funds for the
complete rebuilding of Alexandra Township. Rev. Beyers Naude credited
Stallion Security as being one of the leading supporters in the
development of this project.
Qulani Security
Stallion Security, by request of the African National Congress,
structured a security company known as Qulani, for ex-MK cadres.
Qulani Security is owned and managed by Sam Ncube situated in the
Eastern Cape.
Stallion Security maintains management consulting involvement with
Qulani. However, we must indicate that this entire venture is undertaken
with no financial reward. Attached please find letter of reference
(Annexure B). Should you require further references on this project
